The Coffeevine October 18 Box Preview

This will be the first Coffeevine review exclusively written in English Let’s finally begin the preview of Coffeevine’s October 18 box, in this post, I will write a few short sentences about each coffee, where the coffee roaster is from, where the coffee comes from and my expectations about the coffee itself.

You can visit The Coffeevine here! Don’t forget to use “kaffenytt” as a voucher, you’ll get 25% off your first purchase!

1) Calendar Coffee Roasters, Ireland.
Personal cupping and recipe

Origin: El Salvador
Variety: Pacas
Producer: Jose Efrain Diaz
Region: San Fernando, Chalatenago
Process: Washed
Altitude: 1 800 masl

Cupping notes from the coffee roastery:
Peach & Butterschotch.

Expectation: A very nice smell, well almost all coffees smell great but this one has a mild and lovely scent trough it all. I’ve been drinking a lot of El Salvadorian coffee now and I think that this one will be good as well, the last one I tried out was a Honey processed one so I guess this Washed-process will taste different.

2) Nømad Coffee Roasters, Spain.
Personal cupping and recipe

Origin: Ethiopia
Variety: Mixed Heirloom
Producer: Local
Region: Kochere
Process: Washed
Altitude: 1 790 – 1 900 masl

Cupping notes from the coffee roastery:
Blueberry, Saturn Peach & White tea.

Expectation: This coffee has a more sweet smell to it. I think that this coffee, just looking at the beans seems to be not as consistent with the roast like the other bags.  I think that this coffee will be great, a good everyday coffee.

3) April Coffee Roasters, Denmark.
Personal cupping and recipe

Origin: Kenya
Variety: Arabica SL 28 SL 34
Producer: Small Farmholders
Region: Kapsokwony town
Process: Washed
Altitude: 1 800 – 2 000 masl

Cupping notes from the coffee roastery:
Red Wine, Apple & Gooseberry.

Expectation: A really acidic and more close to grapey smell. It’s very interesting that April Coffee Roasters noted “Red Wine”, I look forward to trying this coffee out!! I hope I drink a very acidic and almost vinegar tone to it.

Conclusion: As usual this will be very exciting to see which coffee roastery will win in this The Coffeevine’s October box 18.

Last time I wrote: “We will divide this so that the Coffeevine week will become two weeks instead, you can easily try the coffee with me and look forward to the next post! We’ll review and drink some awesome coffees from these three different countries; Burundi, Guatemala & Ethiopia. Let’s see who wins out of these three coffees.”

But it will be different since I’ve stopped write in Swedish and just focusing on English, which saves a lot of time and gives me more time to up the quality of both the language and content. So I will try to post as we go since it’s Christmas eve next week and new years coming up.
