The Coffeevine July 18 Box Preview

Now it’s finally time to write about the Coffeevines July 18 box, in this post I will write a few short posts about each coffee, where the coffee roaster is from, where the coffee comes from and my expectations about the coffee itself.

1) Drop Coffee, Sweden.
Personal cupping and recipe available

Origin: Bolivia
Variety:  Caturra, Catuai
Farm: Carmelita
Region: Copacabana
Process: Washed
Altitude:  1550 – 1 850 meters above sea level.

Cupping notes:
Honey melon, nutmeg, black tea with an aftertaste of lemon curd.

Expectation: The potential of this coffee is as high as the sky is high, I think this could be the favorite of this month for the subscribers of The Coffeevine. Not because it’s roasted in Sweden, I’m not falling for that one haha! It’s because of this amazing taste profile!

2) Kaffa Oslo, Norway.
Personal cupping and recipe available

Origin: Ethiopia
Variety: Mixed Heirloom
Farm: Duromina
Region: Jimma
Process: Washed
Altitude: –

Cupping notes:
Apricot, white flowers and clementine.

Expectation: This coffee feels very fresh with high-quality beans. The description is very exciting ’cause I know that this taste profile is exactly like mine, because, sometimes you just want to drink the coffee alone and this will be a good cup for that.

3) Friedhats, Netherlands.
Personal cupping and recipe available

1)
Origin: Colombia
Variety: Caturra
Farm: Hacienda San Alberto
Region: Buena Vista
Process: Washed
Altitude: 1 550 – 1 600 meters above sea level.

Cupping notes:
Thick, molasses and fig.

2)

Origin: Colombia
Variety: Castillo
Farm: Hacienda San Alberto
Region: Buena Vista
Process: Washed
Altitude: 1 500 meters above sea level.

Cupping notes:
Tropical, banana & grape.

Expectation: I have to admit that this is a bit different. Two different varieties of Friedhats coffee. But to be honest, both of them sounds so exciting and I think that one of these two takes it home. It’s a bit boring to see so much Washed-processed coffee. It’s so common these days.

Conclusion: As usual this will be very exciting to see which coffee roastery will win in this The Coffeevine’s July box 18. It’s interesting with four different varieties this month, it will even be harder to guess who will be the winner of this month.

We will divide this so that the Coffeevine week will become two weeks instead, you can easily try the coffee with me and look forward to the next post! We’ll review and drink some awesome coffees from these three different countries; Bolivia, Ethiopia and two different coffees from Colombia. Let’s see who wins out of these four coffees.
